A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke the legal status and work permits of over 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
These individuals entered the U.S. under President Biden’s controversial CHNV humanitarian parole program, which allowed vetted migrants with U.S. sponsors to fly directly into the country and stay for two years.
The program aimed to reduce illegal border crossings and enhance vetting.
Judge Indira Talwani ruled that terminating the program without individual case assessments undermines the rule of law.
The decision halts the planned revocations set for April 24, 2025.
