Sydney Lights Up for Australia’s Under-16 Social Media Ban

Australia marked the rollout of its under-16 social media ban with a symbolic display in Sydney.

The iconic Harbour Bridge was illuminated in green and gold and projected with the slogan “Let them be kids.”

The display was meant to highlight efforts to protect children from online harms and reinforce the new rules banning social media access for under-16s.

Officials described the event as a testament to their commitment to safeguarding youth mental health and privacy in the digital age.

The lights went up just hours after the ban came into effect nationwide.
