The Syrian army has officially accused the Syrian Democratic Forces of abandoning their guard duties at the al Hol camp, which holds thousands of families linked to ISIS militants from around the world.
In a statement, the army claimed the SDF released all those being held at the camp, raising serious security concerns.
Syrian authorities declared their “absolute commitment” to protecting Kurdish civilians and ensuring their security, while warning that the situation at al Hol could have dangerous regional consequences if left uncontained.
The SDF has not yet issued a public response to the accusations.
