UK Skips ‘Board of Peace’ Signing

The UK has confirmed it will not take part in the signing ceremony for the proposed “Board of Peace,” according to a government minister.

Yvette Cooper said Britain supports diplomatic efforts to reduce global conflict but has concerns about the structure and implications of the initiative.

Officials are wary that the body could overlap with existing international institutions and include actors whose involvement would be politically and legally problematic.

The decision signals London’s reluctance to endorse a high profile framework it does not fully control, while insisting it will continue working with allies through established diplomatic channels.
