The UN Human Rights Council has condemned Islamic Republic’s strikes across the Persian Gulf and backed calls for reparations, according to AFP and other reports.
Persian Gulf states told the council the attacks posed an “existential threat” to regional security, while a draft resolution called on Iran to cease further strikes and provide compensation for civilian, infrastructure and environmental damage.
IRGC rejected the criticism and defended its actions as retaliation during the widening war.
The move marks a further diplomatic blow for Tehran as international pressure grows over attacks on Gulf energy sites and shipping routes.
