Donald Trump has issued his most aggressive warning yet to Tehran, posting on Truth Social that the US will “completely obliterate” Iran’s electricity plants, oil wells, Kharg Island, and possibly its desalination facilities if a peace deal is not reached “shortly” and the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately reopened.
Trump simultaneously claimed the US is in “serious discussions with a new and more reasonable regime” in Iran.

Brent crude jumped 3.5% to over $116 a barrel on the news.
