The IRGC issued a defiant statement on Thursday dismissing Trump’s assertion that five weeks of bombing has left the country weakened, declaring the US and Israel will face “lasting regret and ultimate surrender.”
The statement came as Iran’s foreign ministry again flatly denied any ceasefire negotiations with Washington, calling American demands “maximalist and irrational.”
Tehran simultaneously confirmed it struck an oil tanker in the Gulf it said belonged to Israel, and its Revolutionary Guards vowed to keep the Strait of Hormuz permanently closed to all “enemies.”
Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen publicly since the war began on 28 February, issued a statement calling the US and Israel enemies who know “no human, moral or vital limits.” More than 1,900 Iranians have been killed so far.
