Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken announced that Belgium is prepared to send troops to Ukraine as part of the UK- and France-led “Coalition of the Willing” immediately after a ceasefire is established.
The coalition aims to stabilise Ukraine following active hostilities, providing security on land, sea, and air.
In addition to troop deployment, Belgium plans to deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine ahead of schedule and has committed to providing €1 billion in annual military aid.
The “Coalition of the Willing,” comprising 31 nations, is designed to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensure the durability of any peace agreement with Russia.
