Denmark has announced plans to purchase 16 additional F-35 fighter jets from the United States, bringing its total fleet to 43.
The government will also invest $4.4 billion in strengthening its military presence in the Arctic and North Atlantic to counter Russian and Chinese activity.
The package includes two new Arctic patrol vessels, maritime surveillance aircraft, and advanced drones.
A new Arctic Command headquarters will be established in Nuuk, alongside an underwater communication cable linking Greenland and Denmark.
Officials say the buildup will enhance security and cooperation with Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
