Israel has released over 150 Palestinian prisoners as part of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire that also saw the return of all surviving Israeli hostages.
The freed detainees, many held for security offences, were welcomed by crowds in Ramallah and Khan Younis.
Hamas called the release a “victory for the resistance,” while Israeli officials described it as a painful but necessary step toward ending the conflict.
Donald Trump, who oversaw the agreement, said the exchange marked a “new chapter” for peace, though tensions remain high and both sides accuse the other of violating past ceasefire terms.
