Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has formally invited U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Egypt to attend the signing of a Gaza ceasefire agreement, should negotiations succeed.
Speaking at a police academy event in Cairo, El-Sisi said he had received “very encouraging” updates from ongoing talks in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The ceasefire efforts are backed by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, alongside regional mediators from Qatar, Turkey and Egypt.
El-Sisi’s gesture aims to elevate the legitimacy of any agreement and strengthen trust among involved parties.
