EU Proposes Zero Tariffs on Industrial Goods in Trade Talks with U.S.

The European Union has offered the United States a “zero-for-zero” tariff arrangement on industrial goods, aiming to eliminate tariffs on both sides.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the EU’s readiness for a favorable deal, stating, “Europe is always ready for a good deal. So we keep it on the table.”

She also noted the EU’s preparedness to implement countermeasures if the U.S. imposes tariffs.

This proposal aligns with strategies the EU has employed with other trading partners, reflecting its commitment to fair trade and open markets.
