Greta Thunberg has been detained by Israeli forces after joining a Gaza-bound aid flotilla aboard the Madleen, a British-flagged vessel intercepted in international waters.
She and 11 others were taken to Ashdod, unharmed.
Thunberg later claimed she was “kidnapped,” a charge Israeli officials firmly reject. Footage released by Israel shows the activists safe and calm during the operation.
Authorities called the boat a “selfie yacht” and dismissed the voyage as a political stunt.
The aid onboard was minimal and will be delivered through official channels.
The interception sparked protests and international criticism from Spain, Turkey, Iran and others.
