Hormuz Still Choked Despite Ceasefire Promise

Despite the ceasefire requiring Iran to immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, shipping remains at a virtual standstill.

Only a handful of vessels have transited since the truce was announced, against a pre-war average of over 100 ships per day.

Iran is demanding permission requests and charging tolls exceeding $1 million per vessel — conditions Trump called “dishonorable” on Truth Social.

UAE oil giant ADNAC CEO Sultan Al Jaber has said bluntly: “The Strait of Hormuz is not open.”

Over 325 tankers remain stranded in the Gulf.

The Islamabad talks today will likely determine whether this blockade is lifted or reimposed.
