In the deadliest single day of the Israel-Hezbollah war, Israeli launched targeted strikes hitting commercial and residential areas of central Beirut without warning on Wednesday, hours after the US-Iran ceasefire was announced.
At least 182 people were killed and 890 wounded, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
Israel said it struck more than 100 Hezbollah targets in just 10 minutes across Beirut, southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
Rescue workers found charred bodies at a major Beirut intersection.
Lebanon declared a national day of mourning and its president called the attacks “barbaric.”
France condemned the strikes as “unacceptable” and said they “directly threaten the sustainability of the ceasefire.”
Trump dismissed the Lebanon war as a “separate skirmish.”
