Iran has warned that a snapback of UN sanctions by Germany, France and the UK will trigger a firm response that could harm both Europe and Israel.
Government spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that activating the loophole threat to the 2015 nuclear deal would damage European interests and undermine international legal.
The threat comes as E3 representatives meet Iran in Istanbul to revive nuclear talks.
Europe warns snapback could be activated by the end of August if Iran fails to resume full IAEA cooperation or address uranium stockpile concerns.
Iran has rejected European legitimacy to trigger the mechanism and called the snapback plan illegal and dangerous.
This standoff frames Europe’s last leverage before the October expiration of the UN snapback clause, while Iran insists on negotiations under trust-building terms only.
