Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado reportedly suffered a spinal fracture while fleeing the country, according to World Source News citing a source speaking to Faytuks Network.
Doctors in Oslo confirmed the injury and say it was likely sustained during her escape aboard a small fishing vessel.
Machado recently left Venezuela after years of persecution by Nicolás Maduro’s regime and is in Norway as her daughter prepares to receive the Nobel Peace Prize on her behalf.
Her team has not released further medical details, but officials in Oslo say she is receiving treatment and remains in stable condition.
