Pakistan Meddles In US-Iran Talks

Pakistan has positioned itself as the key mediator in the Iran war, with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announcing Islamabad is ready to host direct talks between Washington and Tehran “in coming days.”

The announcement followed a second round of quadrilateral meetings in Islamabad between the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt — all united behind diplomacy as the only viable path to end the conflict.

As an initial confidence-building measure, Iran has agreed to allow 20 Pakistani-flagged ships to transit the Strait of Hormuz at two per day.

Iran’s parliament speaker dismissed the talks as cover for a planned US ground invasion, warning American troops would never be accepted.
