Palestinian sources are reporting that Israel has agreed to release Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Saadat, Ibrahim Hamed and Hassan Salama.
Israeli officials have strongly denied this, saying these men remain off-limits in any prisoner deal.
Barghouti is serving multiple life sentences for planning attacks during the Second Intifada, while Hamed and Salama were convicted for directing suicide bombings that killed many Israelis.
These are among the most notorious figures in Israeli prisons, making their release extremely unlikely.
Analysts believe the report is an attempt to apply pressure during ongoing ceasefire and prisoner negotiations.
