Reeves Slams OBR After Budget Leak Blunder

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has publicly criticised the Office for Budget Responsibility for accidentally leaking sensitive details of the upcoming Budget, calling the slip-up “a serious error on their part.”

Reeves said she was “deeply disappointed” by the breach and warned that such mistakes could undermine public confidence in economic planning.

The leak, which reportedly revealed key figures and tax assumptions ahead of the official Budget announcement, has forced the Treasury to tighten its internal protocols.

Critics argue the slip threatens the impact of the government’s long-term fiscal strategy and could disrupt market expectations before the formal Budget release.
