Reform Set For Landslide As Labour Faces Wipeout

Reform UK is on course to win up to 1,550 council seats in next Thursday’s local elections, with Labour predicted to lose as many as 1,850 seats and finish fourth in some areas, according to leading election forecasters.

Sir Keir Starmer narrowly survived a Commons vote on Monday to refer him to the Privileges Committee over the Mandelson appointment, but the Financial Times has now revealed that Sir Christian Turner, the new Washington ambassador, told sixth-form students in February that Starmer’s premiership was “quite touch and go” and that “the moment to look to is the May elections”.

The Conservatives are also expected to lose up to 600 seats.

Nigel Farage’s party is positioning itself to absorb Tory voters and present itself as the official opposition.
