London Mayor Sadiq Khan has formally approved plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street, one of the capital’s busiest shopping destinations.
The decision aims to reduce traffic congestion, cut pollution and improve safety for shoppers and visitors.
Supporters say the move will boost retail and create a cleaner, more attractive environment.
Critics, however, warn it could increase traffic in surrounding areas and disrupt local businesses during the transition period.
