Sudan Accuses UAE And Ethiopia Of Khartoum Airport Strike

Sudan has formally accused the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia of orchestrating Monday’s drone attack on Khartoum International Airport, recalling its ambassador from Addis Ababa and warning it is “prepared for all scenarios” including direct military confrontation.

Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem said the army has “conclusive evidence” that four drone strikes since 1 March were launched from Ethiopia’s Bahir Dar airport using Emirati-supplied drones.

The strikes have shattered the relative calm in Khartoum since the army retook the capital from the RSF last year.

The UAE has long been accused of arming the RSF paramilitaries, charges which led to a complicity case at the International Court of Justice over the genocide in Darfur.

Reuters previously documented Ethiopia training RSF fighters at Asosa airport.

Nearly 59,000 people have been killed in three years of war.
