The Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have reached a comprehensive ceasefire stretching across all fronts in northern and northeastern Syria.
Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi met in Damascus and confirmed the truce will take effect immediately.
The deal comes after renewed clashes in Aleppo and mounting tensions over the stalled integration of SDF forces into Syria’s state apparatus.
Implementation will be closely watched, as both sides accuse the other of violating previous understandings.
