US General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that Russia is “definitely” providing material support to Iran in its war against the United States, but declined to specify what kind of assistance in a public hearing.
The admission confirms that Moscow and Tehran’s January 2025 strategic partnership treaty has activated under wartime conditions.
The disclosure came as Ukrainian drones struck Russia’s battered Tuapse oil refinery for a fourth time, reigniting fires at the Black Sea facility and prompting fresh evacuation orders.
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces also hit a key Russian drone development complex in occupied Zaporizhzhia.
