Turkey threatens Kurds in Syria

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says Ankara does not want to return to military action but warned the Syrian Democratic Forces that patience among key actors is wearing thin.

Fidan said Turkey still prefers a diplomatic path yet insists the SDF must halt activities that Ankara views as hostile or destabilising.

His comments reflect growing frustration in Ankara over what it describes as the group’s refusal to compromise on security concerns along the Turkish border.

Turkish officials say continued escalation could force them to reconsider military options even though they would prefer to avoid another confrontation in northern Syria.
