Zelensky sets conditions for ceasefire with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that a ceasefire with Russia can only happen if it is accompanied by binding security guarantees.

Speaking in an interview with Sky News, he insisted that any deal must be formalised in a document backed by the United States and European partners.

Zelensky stressed the importance of a clear stance from President Donald Trump, calling U.S. leadership essential to make such an agreement credible.

He added that Ukraine would not agree to end the war without firm commitments in place, underscoring Kyiv’s demand for lasting security assurances before halting hostilities.
