Netanyahu Attacks Australian PM Over Palestine Recognition

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a sharp attack on Australian leader Anthony Albanese following Canberra’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu said “history will remember Albanese for what he is, a weak politician who betrayed Israel and abandoned Australia’s Jews.”

The remarks come after Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed that recognition will be formalised at the United Nations General Assembly in September.

Netanyahu’s statement reflects the growing rift between Israel and Australia, with both governments trading criticism in recent days over Middle East policy and diplomatic ties.
