Uganda has become the third African country to sign an agreement with the United States to accept migrants deported from America.
The deal follows similar arrangements already reached with South Sudan and Rwanda.
Under the agreement, Uganda will take in deportees provided they are African nationals and have not been convicted of crimes.
Washington has framed the deals as part of a broader effort to manage migration flows, while Kampala has presented the move as a humanitarian measure.
The agreements have drawn scrutiny from rights groups concerned about the conditions facing deported migrants once relocated.
