Tommy Robinson Cleared of Terror-Related Charge

Tommy Robinson was acquitted today of an offence under the Terrorism Act 2000 after refusing to provide the passcode for his phone during a stop at the Channel Tunnel last July.

The case heard that police stopped him under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act because of suspicion, but the presiding judge, Sam Goozee, ruled the stop was unlawful and likely motivated by Robinson’s political beliefs rather than reasonable suspicion of terrorism.

Outside the court Robinson publicly thanked billionaire Elon Musk for funding his legal defence.
