Thailand has suspended a U.S.-backed peace agreement with Cambodia after a landmine explosion near the border injured two Thai soldiers.
One soldier lost his right foot in the blast, which occurred in a disputed area along the frontier.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the truce will remain frozen until Cambodia meets Bangkok’s demands.
The deal, signed only weeks ago with U.S. support, was intended to ease tensions between the two neighbours.
Cambodia denies planting new mines, but the incident has sparked fears of renewed conflict along the border region.
