Top U.S. Officials to Brief Senate on Caribbean Military Buildup

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will deliver a classified briefing to the Senate on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. on escalating military activity in the Southern Caribbean, according to Punchbowl News.

The session comes as lawmakers from both parties signal growing support for a potential War Powers Resolution aimed at restricting or defining the Trump Administration’s authority in the region.

Senators are seeking clarity on U.S. deployments, intelligence on Venezuelan movements, and the risk of wider conflict.

The briefing is expected to shape the next phase of congressional action on the fast moving crisis.
