Japan’s PM Says Door to China Remains Open Despite Diplomatic Row

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi says she remains “always open” to dialogue with China even as tensions rise between Tokyo and Beijing.

Speaking to reporters, Takaichi said Japan is not closing communication channels and emphasised the importance of direct engagement to manage disputes.

The two countries have recently clashed over maritime issues, defence policy and trade restrictions, but Tokyo insists diplomacy must continue alongside deterrence efforts.

Takaichi’s comments signal a willingness to stabilise the relationship while maintaining Japan’s firm stance on national security concerns.
