Spain Rail Safety in Question After Third Crash in Days

Spain’s rail network was hit by another train incident near Alumbres in Cartagena when a FEVE passenger train collided with a crane, injuring several people, though none critically.

The crash happened around midday near Los Partidas and is now under investigation.

This marks at least the third significant rail accident in a matter of days, following a high-speed collision in southern Spain that killed dozens and a commuter train crash near Barcelona that claimed a life and injured many more.

The string of incidents has triggered fresh alarm over rail safety standards and infrastructure oversight across the country.
