Netanyahu: Lebanon Not Covered By Ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office backed the US ceasefire with Iran but issued an immediate caveat: Lebanon is not included, and Israeli military operations against Hezbollah will continue.

This directly contradicts Pakistan’s PM Sharif, who announced the ceasefire covers “everywhere including Lebanon.”

Israel’s military confirmed on Wednesday morning it was pressing ahead with ground operations and airstrikes in southern Lebanon.

At least eight people were killed in an Israeli strike in the Sidon area hours after the ceasefire announcement.

More than 1,530 people have been killed in Lebanon since the war began, with over 1 million displaced.

The dispute over Lebanon’s inclusion is the most immediate fault line threatening the agreement.
