Starmer Faces Parliament Over Mandelson Vetting Scandal

Keir Starmer faces the fight of his political life in the Commons today as he attempts to explain why Peter Mandelson was sent to Washington as ambassador despite failing security vetting over his Jeffrey Epstein ties.

The top Foreign Office mandarin Olly Robbins has already been forced out, and Robbins will give evidence to MPs on Tuesday.

Opposition leaders are calling the Prime Minister either a liar or incompetent.

Kemi Badenoch said in a weekend letter that Starmer had “undermined national security” by handing the top diplomatic post to a man flagged as “high concern”.

Labour rebels are openly briefing against him.
