At least 12 Thai civilians have been killed after Cambodian artillery shells struck a gas station, a 7-Eleven, and a hospital in a cross-border attack.
The strikes hit Thailand’s Sisaket and Surin provinces, wounding dozens more.
Thai F-16 jets responded with airstrikes on Cambodian military positions near the disputed Ta Muen Thom temple.
The Thai government has sealed the border and evacuated over 40,000 people from nearby villages.
Both countries have expelled each other’s ambassadors as tensions escalate.
International calls for calm are growing, while Cambodia has requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting.
