Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has congratulated the nation on what he called a “victory” over Israel following a 12-day conflict that ended in a US-brokered ceasefire.
In his first public statement since the fighting paused, Khamenei said Iran had delivered a “heavy slap” to America and had defeated the “false Zionist regime.”
He praised Iran’s military forces and citizens for their unity and resilience.
Khamenei also warned that Iran remains prepared to respond to any future aggression.
The statement comes as tensions in the region remain high despite the temporary truce.
