Erdoğan Bans Grok In Turkey

Grok, the AI chatbot developed by xAI, has been blocked in Turkey for allegedly insulting the dictator, Erdoğan.

The country’s prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation, citing Turkey’s criminal law which makes insulting the leader punishable by up to four years in prison – applicable even to an algorithm.

The ban highlights growing tensions between technology platforms and tyrannical governments.

Turkey’s move signals increased scrutiny of AI-generated content and its creators.

xAI has yet to respond publicly.

Legal experts say the investigation raises fresh questions about liability, censorship, and freedom of expression in the age of generative AI.
