EU Cautiously Backs Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Law

The European Union has given cautious support to Ukraine’s new legislation aimed at strengthening anti-corruption bodies NABU and SAPO.

Brussels called the move a response to “key challenges” threatening the agencies’ independence, but stopped short of full praise.

The final version of the law still requires scrutiny, and Ukraine faces further demands.

These include filling top judicial vacancies, reversing controversial criminal code changes, and passing broader court reforms.

While the law is seen as progress, EU membership talks remain conditional.

Brussels is making it clear that Ukraine must deliver real reforms before any major breakthroughs occur.
