EU to End Most Multi-Entry Schengen Visas for Russians

The European Union is preparing to stop issuing most multiple-entry Schengen visas to Russian citizens, according to multiple European officials cited by Politico.

Russians will generally only receive single-entry visas under the new rules, with exceptions allowed only for humanitarian cases or those who also hold EU citizenship.

The restriction could be approved and implemented as early as this week.

The move forms part of a broader effort by the EU to reduce travel by Russian nationals amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
