Gunmen Kidnap 13 Worshippers in Nigeria Church Attack

Gunmen stormed a church in Kogi State during Sunday service and abducted at least 13 worshippers, according to local authorities.

The attackers arrived heavily armed and opened fire to force congregants to the ground before seizing a group of victims and fleeing into nearby forested areas.

Security forces have launched a search operation with support from community vigilantes, but there are no updates yet on the hostages’ condition or location.

Kidnappings for ransom remain a major security threat across central Nigeria, and officials warn the scale of the latest attack shows armed groups are expanding their reach and capabilities.
