Indonesia Prepares Up to 20,000 Soldiers for Peacekeeping Role in Gaza

Indonesia announced it has trained up to 20,000 troops for a potential deployment to the Gaza Strip as part of a proposed multinational peace-keeping mission.

Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin stated the force would primarily handle health and construction-related tasks rather than combat roles.

President Prabowo Subianto has yet to approve deployment details, awaiting a United Nations mandate and final mission specifications.

If approved, this would be Indonesia’s largest peace-keeping contribution on record and would mark a significant shift in its role in global conflict resolution.
