Iran Ends Nuclear Cooperation Framework and Halts IAEA Inspections

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that Tehran is scrapping the Cairo Agreement and ending its nuclear cooperation framework with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Araghchi said the arrangement is “no longer relevant,” meaning inspections and monitoring of Iran’s nuclear facilities will stop immediately.

The move follows renewed sanctions and deepening tensions between Iran and Western governments.

Diplomats warn the decision severely undermines transparency around Iran’s nuclear activities and leaves the IAEA with limited visibility into the country’s enrichment work.

The announcement marks a major escalation in Iran’s standoff with the international community.
