Iran To Resume Talks With UN Nuclear Watchdog

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that negotiations with the International Atomic Energy Agency will continue, with another round of discussions expected in the coming days.

The announcement comes after Tehran introduced a law restricting cooperation with the agency unless inspections are specifically approved by the country’s Supreme National Security Council.

Tensions with the IAEA have risen since June, when US and Israeli strikes hit Iranian nuclear facilities and inspectors lost access to the sites.

Britain, France and Germany have warned they may reimpose UN sanctions if Iran does not resume meaningful engagement by the end of August.
