Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has declared Iran’s Central Bank a terror organisation, along with Shahr Bank, Mellat Bank and the energy firm Sepehr Energy Jahan.
Three senior Iranian executives were also named in the designation.
Katz said the Central Bank plays a key role in financing terrorism by funnelling billions to the IRGC and its proxies.
The move allows Israel to impose new sanctions and legal measures against those entities.
It comes amid intensifying conflict with Iran and is intended to disrupt Tehran’s ability to fund regional militias and operations against Israel and its allies.
