Norwegian police have opened an investigation into Thorbjørn Jagland, the former Secretary General of the Council of Europe, over suspected corruption following revelations linked to the Epstein files.
Norway’s economic crime authority is examining documents that reportedly reference gifts, trips, and loans allegedly provided by financier and convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
No formal charges have been filed. Reports also claim Epstein visited Jagland’s residence in Strasbourg and that Jagland sought financial help in 2014 to purchase property in Oslo.
Authorities say the claims are being verified.
