Philippines: Bondi Attacker Used Indian Passport, ISIS Materials Found

Philippine immigration officials say Bondi attacker Sajid Akram entered the country using an Indian passport, while his son arrived separately as an Australian national.

Authorities report that improvised explosive devices and ISIS flags were recovered from their vehicle after the attack.

Indian officials have confirmed Akram’s identity and travel documents.

The discovery of extremist materials has intensified the investigation, with counterterrorism units now examining possible links to regional and international networks.

Officials are also reviewing how Akram was able to enter the country despite reported red flags.

Further updates are expected as agencies coordinate across multiple jurisdictions.
