Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially ratified a 20-year Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty with Iran, solidifying a broad alliance across defence, energy, finance, and technology.
Originally signed with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in January, the agreement aims to deepen cooperation between the two nations amidst ongoing Western sanctions.
The treaty encompasses joint military exercises, intelligence sharing, and collaboration on nuclear energy projects, while notably excluding mutual defence obligations.
This development underscores Moscow and Tehran’s intent to counter Western influence and bolster their regional standing.
