Pedro Sánchez has confirmed that Spain will not join the proposed Board of Peace.
He said the body operates outside the United Nations framework and fails to include the Palestinian Authority, making it unacceptable for Madrid.
Sánchez stressed that Palestinians alone must decide the future of Gaza and the West Bank, reinforcing Spain’s position that any peace effort must be rooted in international law and recognised institutions.
The decision highlights growing divisions among Western states over new diplomatic initiatives that bypass existing global frameworks.
